JOHN GARCIA AND THE BAND OF GOLD
Three Great Teasers For January Release
Out in less than 2 weeks (January 4th), these pre-released tracks give me hope that this may be John's best post-Kyuss album yet. The production is great, and there is an aggressiveness to these songs that was not there in John's previous two releases. If the rest of the album is as good as these three tracks, we've got something special on deck to kick off 2019.
Check out "Jim's Whiskers." Whoever is playing guitar kills it here:
Here is the next tune, called "Chicken Delight:"
(rhymes with "Chicken Tonight", a song from an old Ragu commercial)
Brant Bjork's "Black Power Flower" became one of my favorite 2014 albums because of its aggressive energy, and "John Garcia and the Band of Gold" seems like it may represent a similar revival of commitment for John Garcia. Check out the third available track here on Bandcamp.
Am working hard on my end-of-year playlists, but will have a couple more 2018 reviews before the month is over. Until next time
