SWAMPLORD: TOMBSTONE

Smooth, Catchy Doom

Swamplord's debut album caught me off guard last year.  It really snuck up on me and got ingrained in my brain.  I'm happy to report that the follow-up album, "Tombstone" does not disappoint.

Ilya's vocals are so smooth, and his voice may remind you of  David Merrill from Youngblood Supercult.  And the music is great.  Perfect heavy sounds and well crafted songwriting.

Swamplord are from Murom, Russia.  They are:

Vocals - Ilya Mitin
Bass - Konstantin Igonin
Guitars, effects - Sergey Chizhov

Drums: ??? anybody know??

I have become increasingly fond of this album since I bought it.

If you like it too, spread the word on Swamplord.

Wrote this on Valentine's Day, but fell asleep before posting. Better late than never, I hope...

Give This Some Love on Valentine's Day

Before even describing the music, I'd like to be the first to comment on what great album art this is.  Talk about painting a picture...

Now, my take on the music:

A mellow, but cool and interesting interpretation of doom.

Raw, but shows the tremendous potential of this band.

Check out "Midnight Rites":

Hope playing this tune gets you laid on Valentine's Day!!!
