BLACK RAINBOWS: Pandaemonium

Gabriele Gets Aggressive Again

This is the Black Rainbows album I have been waiting for since 2013's "Holy Moon" EP.  Black Rainbows was really starting to be one of my favorite bands, with the successive releases of "Carmina Diabolo", "Supermothafuzzalicious!!" and "Holy Moon."  Then 2015's "Hawkdope" and 2016's "Stellar Prophecy" seemed to go in a more spacey, burnt-out direction.  While these two releases are good and have a lot of great guitar moments, neither had the same replayability for me, or had me really excited about the band the way those previous three had.

Enter "Pandemonium".  It's heavy, with an epic fuzz sound, and just has a feel of renewed enthusiasm.  Hear for yourself on the opening track, "Sunrise":

Now the band takes it up to eleven with track 4, entitled "Grindstone":
Black Rainbows are to the Italian rock scene what Fu Manchu is to American rock.  If you consider yourself a fan of stoner rock, then your music collection is really not complete without the three Black Rainbows albums I mentioned above, along with their brand new release, "Pandaemonium".

Black Rainbows are:
Gabriele Fiori: Guitar and Vocals
Giuseppe Guglielmino: Bass
Fillippo Ragazzoni: Drums

This came out on Friday, and I can't stop listening to it.  Going to give it another spin right now.  Until next time
