What can I say about the legacy of Eddie Van Halen that hasn't been said in the last 48 hours?
The world, fans and musicians alike, are mourning the loss of Eddie Van Halen. Not only was he the lead guitarist of one of the greatest rock bands in existence, he was one of the most innovative musicians of our time. His contributions to guitar playing alone motivated generations of would be musicians(including me) to pick up an instrument just to try and sound like him. It's easy to say for a kid growing up in the 80's, he was our Hendrix.
Long live Eddie, it was a privilege to hear your music.
