MEPHISTOFELES: ( ( ( I ' M H E R O I N ) ) )
Argentinian Kids Set The Standard For Psychedelic Doom
In one year this band has turned the corner and gone from "up and comers" to full-on kingpins. This is as good a doom album as you could own. Heavy and trippy at the same time, with a perfect old-school sound and all around great musicianship. The songwriting on "I'm Heroin" creates an evolving mood that stays fresh and avoids the feeling of repetitiousness that sometimes showed up on last year's release. This is track #6, "Addicted To Satan", simply awesome:
Gabriel has added a Tim Sult sound to his bag of tricks, and it works really well with the band's material. Here is the tune "Heroin". It's got an early Electric Wizard feel at first, and you'll hear what I mean about the Tim Sult sound as the tune progresses:
"(((I'M HEROIN)))" is sure to show up on a ton of top ten lists at the end of the year. Pick it up here for a mere $6.66:
Mephistofeles is:
Ismael Dimenza .bass
Gabriel Ravera. guitar&vocals
Iván Sacharczuk. drums
and supposedly quite the guest star:
