DEATH WHEELERS: I Tread On Your Grave

Gratuitous, Raunchy Instrumental Hard Rock

Catchy old-school guitar, bass and drums, with the only vocals being random audio clips at the beginning or end of some of the tunes.  "Roadkill 69" pretty effectively sums up the intent of this album, and if you like it you'll find the rest of the album to be equally pleasing.

Now the title track and album opener, "I Tread On Your Grave":
The Death Wheelers have a great sound and a lot of talent.  The only tune I could do without is the cover of Moby Dick.  Now if the Death Wheelers were playing a club and I heard them play Moby Dick, I'd be all in.  Mixing in a classic is never a bad idea.  I can even imagine that Moby Dick may get a great crowd response every time they play it.  I just think that if you are going to record and release a version of Moby Dick, it should be a really inventive take on the tune, not just a cover.

Great debut album by a band with a flair for the dramatic that would make Rob Zombie smile.  See their self-description on Bandcamp:
"Decimated in 1972 by local authorities, all members of The Death Wheelers, a notorious motorcycle club, have been buried at the Surrey cemetery. But the time has come and they have risen for their last ride. They're back from the grave and they're hungry for blood! Nothing can stop this gang of living dead from recruiting new members as they travel coast to coast to find the filthiest, nastiest, trashiest individuals to join their ranks. Their goal, assemble a legion of 13 discycles to seek revenge on the pigs that dismantled the club and send them to their graves. The cycle of violence continues. "

The Death Wheelers are:
Max 'the axe' Tremblay - Loud pipes
Sy 'wild rye' Tremblay - Fender bender
Richard 'the bastard' Turcotte - Battery acid
Hugo 'red beard' Bertacchi - Tire screeches

Surrey is in British Columbia Canada, so I am figuring the Death Wheelers have just added to the list of great Canadian rock albums this year.  You can get your copy here on Bandcamp.

Rock is the coolest music invented to date. Most everything else is for pussies.
Deal with it!
