Reason #500 Why I can't be a fan of Dave Grohl.

Reason #500 Why I can't be a fan of Dave Grohl.

A few weeks ago, Mr. Grohl fell off the stage and broke his leg. It was documented via numerous shares of the happening on youtube. What made the fall amazing was the fact that he returned to the stage to resume the concert. Over the past week I've been inundated with numerous video shares of Mr. Grohl sitting upon a throne made from a sketch he drew up. A grandiose, self serving, game of thrones style chair that put the man high, tight and center view for all the fans to see. To see a man, who on his first show back spent several minutes recounting the video every goddamn fan had seen already for a week. Every camera angle was documented, every behind the scene account leading up to his return to the stage accounted for. We get it Dave.

Then this week, a fan with a sign asking to play the drums because it was his birthday was granted an almighty wish by Mr. Grohl. He played the drums, he didn't suck. This video has been shared so many times. It's not the first time a band has let a fan come on stage to play. Actually to a more powerful effect, Phil Anselmo, has brought up kids, sick kids to act out their dreams on stage. Sure those moments have been documented but Phil never had a throne to pass down those decrees.

All in all, the foo fighters are a good band. They hit more than they miss. Dave has made his money, fame and has legit claim to being part of the Nirvana legacy. He's got it all. Maybe people hate the guys who stay at the top. Look at Bono. I'd like to think I'm above that type of thinking. But seriously Dave, a throne?
