STONED JESUS: SONGS TO SUN

A week ago today, Ukraine's Stoned Jesus released this gem of an album.

This opening track drew me in hard; lots of great stuff going on here:

These guys have been playing for quite a while, and it shows.  Excellent musicians and songwriters, these guys never disappoint.

ELDER: LIMINALITY/DREAM STATE RETURN

The band describes these two tracks as fragments written between the Omens and Innate Passage albums, reworked last winter.  Both tracks are immense, but I'm posting the shorter, second track:

Elder are originally from Massachusetts, but now reside in Berlin.  The lineup here is:

New Graham Bywater Release..

TORSO: ANNIHILATION DAY

Ever since Grownman turned me on to Possessor in 2014 I have been a huge fan of Graham Bywater, the band's singer, guitar player and songwriter. His new solo project TORSO has now released music in each of the last three years.  This is one of my favorites from TORSO's August 29th release: 

Graham, with his affinity for horror movies and 1970s art style and imagery, could be likened to Rob Zombie in terms of vision, but with a raunchier and dirtier style of music.  However you want to describe it, I love it and recommend you go check it out here on Bandcamp.

Graham is from London.

STRUNG OUT IN HELL

Two years ago, this band put out my #2 favorite album of 2023, and now they're back with another album of the year contender.  I preordered this when I heard about it, and have been listening to it since its release on July 18th.  These guys are no nonsense; just guitar, bass and drums and an old-school hard rock attitude.  Check these out:

The album includes a heavy version of Billy Idol's "White Wedding".  Here's a live version where the vocals seem to be possibly edited but the instruments seem legit.

Margarita Witch Cult are from Birmingham, the city that produced Black Sabbath and Judas Priest.

Have Some Heavy Metal

OK Grownman usually supplies the metal posts and I supply the stoner rock, but tonight I'm posting some choice metal from 12 years ago.  It came up on my shuffle, and I remembered how sick this album was, and in particular this tune:
